In celebration of WA Seniors Week, City of Bayswater will be hosting a series of free activities and workshops for local seniors from Monday 7 November to Thursday 10 November 2022.
Mayor Filomena Piffaretti said Seniors Week is a chance to acknowledge the valuable contributions of people aged over 65 in our community.
“Volunteering with the City or donating time to a range of local clubs and groups are just some of the ways our older residents continue to give back to our community each year,” she said.
“Seniors Week is a great opportunity to show our appreciation for everything seniors do for the Bayswater community.
“To celebrate, the City will host eight free events across our Bayswater and Morley Community Centres. Residents can meet new people and share fond memories through Memory Café, join Intergenerational Storytime and even learn the ancient art of Tai Chi.”
The City of Bayswater’s Senior Week celebrations align with the City’s Age Friendly Strategy, which details how the City will continue to prioritise and support older adults in the community.
“The City is proud to support our seniors through important initiatives, such as enhancing
information and communication; better connecting older people to community services, events and programs; and increasing digital literacy.
“The Age Friendly Strategy will guide us as we continue to create a truly inclusive community – a place where residents and visitors of all abilities and ages can enjoy this beautiful City.”
