Visitors to Bayswater, Maylands and Morley town centres can now recycle on the go, following the recent installation of Container Exchange points across the City.

In a bid to further divert its waste from landfill, the City has partnered with Containers for Change to install the Exchange points, which are branded baskets attached to existing public bins, making it easier for residents and visitors to recycle while out and about in the City.

A total of 12 Exchange points have been installed along the high traffic areas of King William Street in Bayswater, Eighth Avenue in Maylands and Progress Street in Morley.

Exchange points hold up to 100 empty drink containers, and can be emptied by anyone looking to claim a refund at an eligible Containers for Change depot or recycling point.

Containers for Change is WA’s state-wide container deposit scheme that allows the community to receive a 10 cent refund for the return of eligible drink containers.
