The City of Bayswater is hosting an information expo to connect older adults with a range of service providers that can help them stay connected and informed as they age.

Taking place at Morley Community Centre on Monday 15 May from 10am to 4pm, the free Seniors Information Expo will introduce older adults to a range of community groups, organisations, service providers, government departments and businesses.

In addition to browsing information stalls, older adults can participate in a range of fun activities including Mentally Healthy Ice Breaker Bingo, sewing Boomerang Bags and trying their luck with the Act Belong Commit spinning prize wheel. The Taoist Tai Chi Society of Australia will be dropping by to perform a Tai Chi demonstration at 2pm.

Expo attendees can go into the raffle to win a hamper of items donated by Community Centre members. A free sausage sizzle, tea and coffee will be provided, and attendees can watch as free smoothies are blended with the power of a push bike.

Attendees will have the opportunity to get to know the City’s Age Friendly Ambassadors and chat to the Community Centre volunteers to learn more about the programs on offer at the City’s Community Centres.

The Seniors Information Expo is the first of two events the City is hosting in celebration of Volunteers Week from 15 to 21 May. From 9am to 12pm on Thursday 18 May, Bayswater Community Centre will host a Biggest Morning Tea to raise funds for the Cancer Council.
