New citizens to be welcomed with free community barbecue
The City is hosting a free barbecue to welcome new citizens and celebrate the 2023 Community Citizen of the Year Award winners.
The City of Bayswater is welcoming its newest citizens into the community with a free barbecue from 8 to 11am on Thursday 26 January.
New Australians will be awarded their citizenship alongside the presentation of the 2023 Community Citizen of the Year Awards.
The City has partnered with Auspire to present four award categories – Citizen of the Year, Youth Citizen of the Year, Senior Citizen of the Year, and Active Citizenship – which recognise individuals and organisations who have made a notable contribution to the community.
The City is also celebrating the important contribution women make with a fifth category – Women in Leadership.
Celebrations will be held on the Civic Centre front lawn, with live music and children’s entertainment.
New citizens and members of the public are invited to enjoy a free sausage sizzle and ice-cream, with juice, coffee and other drinks available to purchase.
