Bayswater Brief summer 2023-2024
Welcome to the summer 2023/24 edition of the Bayswater Brief.
Message from the Mayor
I’d like to take the opportunity to thank you for choosing me as your first popularly elected Mayor at the recent local government elections. I feel privileged to represent the City as Mayor and look forward to working with my fellow Elected Members and the Administration to achieve positive outcomes for our community. Together, we will ensure Bayswater continues to thrive.
In this edition, you’ll see the City is on track to deliver a suite of renovations at Bayswater Waves for all to enjoy. I encourage you to head along to the grand reopening event and experience the range of upgrades made to the venue, including a refresh of the much-loved wave pool, retiled pool hall and lazy river, expanded group fitness room, refreshed indoor changerooms, and accessibility and sustainability improvements. You can also read about the $4 million clubhouse redevelopment at Maylands Golf Course, courtesy of TenGolf Group.
For those of you with little ones looking to cool off this summer, the newly renovated Maylands Waterland is the place to be. With nature-inspired water features including a wading pool, waterfall, splash pad, tipping bucket and water creek, it’s the perfect location for family picnics and get-togethers.
As the festive season approaches, I encourage you to take some time out with family and friends to enjoy this wonderful City of ours.
Happy holidays.
Mayor Filomena Piffaretti
