Bayswater Brief summer 2024-25
Welcome to the summer 2024/25 edition of the Bayswater Brief.
Message from the Mayor
Did you know the City is home to more than 100 play spaces? As part of our Play Space Strategy, we’re committed to creating fun, welcoming spaces for people of all ages to enjoy. With valuable feedback from the community, we’re upgrading play spaces across our suburbs to make them even better. Head to page 6 to explore the latest upgrades in your area.
Supporting local businesses and creating vibrant town centres remains a priority for the City. Oneway we do this is through our Placemaking Grants program that has helped beloved Maylands café
Steam Haus renovate its shopfront and attract more customers. Turn to page 7 to see how we’re enhancing our town centres to make them even more inviting for everyone.
I’m thrilled to announce the City will be supporting Perth Festival’s Orchestra-oke event at Riverside Gardens in February. Singers of all skill levels are invited to take to the stage and perform alongside Perth Symphony Orchestra for an evening of free family-friendly entertainment all of Perth will be talking about. Read more about this unmissable event on page 10.
When it’s too hot to cook, why not head along to the wide range of community markets on offer this summer. Supported by the City, these events are a fabulous way to try delicious dishes from around the world, browse handcrafted goods and fashion, and enjoy a relaxed evening with your friends, family and neighbours. For more details, check out page 10.
