Fun to flow into Bayswater with Finish Line Festival
The City will celebrate the 51st Avon Descent with a Finish Line Festival at Riverside Gardens on Sunday 11 August.
Spectators, competitors and community members are invited to celebrate the Avon Descent with a day of fun for all ages at the City’s Finish Line Festival at Riverside Gardens, Bayswater on Sunday 11 August.
From 11am to 5pm, festival-goers can welcome paddlers and powercraft crew across the finish line of the epic two-day race down the Swan River, soak up the electric atmosphere and enjoy a day of activities and entertainment.
Free rides, face painting and creative play activities will keep little ones entertained while adults can browse market stalls for handcrafted goods and connect with community groups.
Festival-goers can purchase tasty options from a range of food trucks, enjoy close-up encounters with WA Birds of Prey and dance along to live music and roving performers.
The City is working with GO2CUP and vendors to reduce single-use plastics at this event. Event attendees are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles to fill at the water station, and make use of their own reusable containers and cups.
Car parking will be available at Riverside Gardens with access from Milne Street.
Dogs must be on lead in all areas of Riverside Gardens West during this free community event.
The City of Bayswater acknowledges Lotterywest as a major supporter of the Finish Line Festival. The event is also supported by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions’ Plastic Free Riverpark program, which aims to reduce single-use plastics.
