WALGA grant helps green City reserves
The City has received $38,144 in funding to plant more than 2,400 trees across five locations.
The City of Bayswater has received $38,144 from WALGA’s Urban Greening Grant program to add 2,450 trees and over 10,000 plants to five City locations.
This funding will support the City in protecting and enhancing tree canopy, revegetating natural areas and reducing the urban heat island effect.
Trees and understorey species will be planted across five areas, including Lightning Park, Upper Hillcrest Reserve, Addlestone Reserve, Maxwell Reserve and Boxhill Main Drain.
Trees provide many benefits such as improved park appearance, habitat for wildlife, reduced heat and glare, and areas to enjoy the protection and shade trees provide.
