From 5 to 9pm, community members of all ages can head to Riverside Gardens in Bayswater to join Providence Bayswater Choir in singing yuletide tunes performed by the West Australian Symphonic Wind Ensemble. Party band The Christmas Special will then have the crowd rocking around the Christmas tree with jazzy renditions of beloved Christmas classics.

“The City is delighted to bring our community together to celebrate the magic of Christmas at our annual Carols by the River event, with fun to be had for all ages,” said Mayor Filomena Piffaretti.

“Adults can browse market stalls for last-minute gifts while kids will be entertained with rides, craft activities and face painting before Santa drops by for a special visit.

“I encourage everyone to come along with their with friends, family and neighbours to reflect on another fabulous year in the City.

“Pack your very own picnic to enjoy under the stars or purchase a delicious dinner from one of the onsite food vendors.”

Programs will be available for a gold coin donation, with all proceeds going to crisis accommodation provider Orana House.

The City is working with GO2CUP and vendors to reduce single-use plastics at this event. Event-goers are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles to fill at the water station and make use of their own reusable containers and cups.

The City acknowledges Lotterywest as a major supporter of Carols by the River. The event is also supported by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions.
