The City is celebrating the warmer months by presenting a medley of free events for all ages including community markets, a citizenship celebration, a food festival and an epic orchestral sing-along.
Taking place from December 2024 to April 2025, the City’s Summer Event Series will bring together families, friends and neighbours to iconic City locations, including Riverside Gardens and Bardon Park.
Summer festivities will kick off with Carols by the River at Riverside Gardens on Saturday 14 December, and continue into the new year with a Community Barbecue Breakfast and Citizenship Celebration on Monday 27 January to welcome new citizens and celebrate the winners of the Community Citizen of the Year Awards.
The highlight of the event season will be Orchestra-oke, an extraordinary fusion of symphonic sounds and karaoke taking place at Riverside Gardens on Saturday 22 February. Presented by Perth Festival with Perth Symphony Orchestra and supported by the City, Orchestra-oke will see singers of all skill levels take to the stage to perform pop hits alongside a live orchestra.
Foodies will delight in the return of the City’s two-week-long Feed Me Morley food festival from 8 to 22 March, following its debut in 2024. The highly anticipated festival will again celebrate Morley’s vibrant and diverse food culture with guided food tours and exclusive promotions showcasing local culinary gems.
Throughout the summer months, the City is proud to be supporting a number of lively community-led events through its Community Events Grant. All ages can come along to markets in Bayswater, Noranda, Morley and Maylands to enjoy mouthwatering food, browse handmade goods, listen to live music and soak up the community atmosphere.
