The City worked collaboratively with the property owner and local business 3.8 Baysie, adding alfresco benches and tables to create a more welcoming space, inviting visitors to stay longer and improving safety by slowing down cyclists on the footpath.
The City co-funded the project alongside the Town Team Movement’s Streets Alive Grant with additional contributions from 3.8 Baysie Café. Local supplier Respoke handled the installation, and more seating will be added in early November.
To celebrate the project’s completion, the City and 3.8 Baysie Café are hosting a two-day activation on 26 and 27 October. Locals can enjoy a 10% discount on food and a complimentary baked treat when they dine outside on the new furniture.
