In an effort to support local Maylands businesses, the City has purchased vacant land in the heart of Maylands with plans to develop the site into future parking for visitors to the town centre.

Located at 45 Ninth Avenue, the current vacant lot will be transformed into a carpark to allow visitors to easily access the nearby shops, bars and restaurants located along Eighth Avenue and Whatley Cresent.

Council approved the purchase of the site following a decision by the owners to sell.

Thanks to its bespoke retail shops, art murals and trendy cafés, Maylands is a lively destination that attracts a large number of visitors to the town centre.

The purchase of the land will support existing local businesses by ensuring their valued customers have additional parking options within the bustling town centre.

The City is committed to supporting local businesses, and making Bayswater a more vibrant and liveable place to live, work and visit.
