Bayswater locals are invited to celebrate those who have made outstanding contributions to the community by nominating them for one of five Community Citizen of the Year Awards.
Until 4pm on Thursday 31 October, residents can nominate individuals and organisations living or working in the City for one of the following awards presented in partnership with Auspire:
- Community Citizen of the Year
- Young Community Citizen of the Year (16 – 30 years)
- Senior Community Citizen of the Year (over 65 years)
- Active Citizenship (community group)
Residents are also encouraged to recognise the outstanding achievements of women in the Bayswater community by nominating individuals for the City’s Women in Leadership Award.
The City encourages nominations from people of all backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, individuals from culturally diverse backgrounds, women, young people and those living with disability.
The awards will be presented at a special ceremony hosted by the City on Monday 27 January.
Earlier this year, local business owner Greg Da Rui was announced as the 2024 Community Citizen of the Year for his involvement in a number of local community organisations, including Bayswater Traders Association, Baysie Rollers and Future Bayswater. Greg regularly contributes to charities and, through Future Bayswater’s 6053 Bayswater Food Pantry initiative, has provided food and personal items to those in need.
