The City is seeking feedback on its Draft Morley Station Precinct Structure Plan and Scheme Amendment. The plans were developed with input from the community.

The Draft Structure Plan outlines how land may be used and developed over time, including opportunities for new housing, shops, parks, streets and public spaces. The Scheme Amendment outlines proposed changes to the City’s planning rules, such as zoning and permissible land uses, to help support this long-term vision.

These documents will guide how the area around the new METRONET Morley Train Station, which opened in December 2024, grows into a vibrant and well-connected precinct.

Mayor Filomena Piffaretti said the draft documents respond to community priorities and play a key role in addressing housing supply challenges.

“We are facing a housing crisis. This plan delivers high density housing where it is needed, right next to the Morley Station,” she said.

“Our vision includes higher-density housing options near the station, enhanced streetscapes and more commercial opportunities to support local businesses.

“This is the final check-in to make sure the draft reflects what the community wants to see for the area.”

Community members are encouraged to review the plans and provide feedback by completing an online survey or making a written submission before Monday 16 June 2025. Printed copies of the draft plans are available at the City of Bayswater Civic Centre and local libraries.
