Community and sporting not-for-profit organisations in the City of Bayswater can now apply for funding through the 2026/27 Community Capital Request Grants Program.

Mayor Filomena Piffaretti said the program helps local groups upgrade community facilities to improve accessibility, safety and functionality.

“We’re proud to support projects that make community spaces safer, easier to use and more accessible,” she said.

“These grants deliver practical improvements that benefit both members and the broader community. I encourage all eligible groups within the City to apply.”

As part of the 2025/26 program, the City allocated $84,000 to support the following projects:

- Maylands Sport and Recreation Club – function bar upgrade at the club’s facility
- Morley Eagles Softball Club – kitchen upgrade at Waltham Reserve
- Bayswater Morley Districts Cricket Club – installation of security roller shutters at Lower Hillcrest Reserve
- East Perth District Basketball Association – new audio system at Morley Sport and Recreation Centre
- The West Australian Ballet Centre – decking upgrade at the organisation’s Maylands facility.

Eligible organisations can apply online through the SmartyGrants platform, with direct invitations issued to clubs listed in the City’s directory.

Submissions close at 4pm on Friday 7 November 2025.

Successful projects will be delivered within the 2026/27 financial year.
