Exercise equipment has been installed at Wymond Park in Bayswater, offering local residents the opportunity to enjoy free, low-impact exercise in a natural outdoor environment.

Mayor Filomena Piffaretti said the dedicated exercise space was designed to complement the popular park as a place for people to gather, move and connect.

“Spaces like this play an important role in creating healthy, active neighbourhoods, and enhancing the quality of life for our residents,” she said.

“Designed for all ages and fitness levels, this free and easy-to-use equipment makes it easier for residents to build physical activity into their everyday routine, whether on their own or with others.”

Each piece of exercise equipment includes a QR code that provides easy-to-follow instructions to help community members exercise safely and confidently.

The equipment supports the development of fundamental skills, such as strength, endurance, mobility, balance, power and coordination.

Installation of the equipment was informed by community feedback, including City consultation on future needs for Hillcrest Reserve, located opposite Wymond Park.

The City is committed to improving its reserves and facilities, as part of its Play Space Plan, which includes consideration of outdoor exercise equipment.

With this addition, there are now 18 community exercise spaces throughout the City, including:

– Allan Hill Park, Morley

– Arbor Park, Morley
