The City is inviting community members to a series of free and uplifting events taking place from 5 to 7 March in celebration of International Women’s Day.

Mayor Filomena Piffaretti said the City was proud to present events supporting women’s health, wellbeing and leadership.

“All community members are welcome to attend our International Women’s Day celebrations to boost their physical and mental health, build new skills and connect with others,” she said.

“We’re pleased to have crisis accommodation provider Orana House present at this year’s keystone event, Women’s Impact, to share stories of the valuable work they do in our community.

“Attendees can come along to meet new people, put together self-care packs and write messages of support for those facing family and domestic violence.

“Other events on offer include a yoga class, a menopause workshop, a string quartet performance for seniors and a business workshop for entrepreneurs.

“I look forward to joining the community in celebrating International Women’s Day at these empowering events.”

Women’s Impact will take place in the City’s Civic Centre from 2pm on Friday 7 March. Attendees are encouraged to bring along VISA or Eftpos gift card donations to the value of $25 or $50 to be included in the self-care packs.

The City’s International Women’s Day celebrations are supported by Morley Galleria.
