The City is hosting a free community barbecue from 8 to 11.30am on Monday 27 January to welcome its newest Australian citizens and celebrate the winners of the 2025 Community Citizen of the Year Awards.

Festivities will begin with a special Citizenship Ceremony taking place in the Embleton Room of the City’s Civic Centre. The 2025 Community Citizen of the Year, Senior Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year and winners of the Active Citizenship Award and Outstanding Women in Leadership Award will also be announced at the ceremony.

Community members are invited to the front lawn of the City’s Civic Centre to enjoy a free sausage sizzle run by the Rotary Club of Morley, free coffee and ice cream, and acoustic pop covers performed by local musician Little Song. Children can keep cool with a waterslide and enjoy a range of fun activities.
