The City has delivered a $100,000 floodlighting upgrade at Crimea Park in Morley, improving safety, visibility and energy efficiency at the tennis courts and skate park.
The project replaced six poles and eight outdated light fittings with modern LED floodlights. The new lights improve lighting quality, reduce energy use and lower ongoing operational costs.
Mayor Filomena Piffaretti said the upgrade benefits a wide range of park users.
“The new LED floodlights provide focused, energy-efficient lighting for the tennis courts and skate park, making the area safer and more usable, especially in the evenings when families and young people are active,” she said.
“This upgrade also supports the City’s goal to reach 100% renewable energy by 2030, as part of our Emission Reduction and Renewable Energy Plan.”
The new lights deliver 250 lux for the tennis courts which meets Australian standards for recreational tennis. The skate park lighting provides an illumination level of 100 lux to support safe use after dark.
