City of Bayswater Director Community Services Bianca Sandri has been selected by Minister for Local Government Hannah Beazley MLA as the City of Nedlands Deputy Commissioner.
Bayswater CEO Jeremy Edwards praised Minister Beazley’s appointment of Ms Sandri as one of three commissioners, following her decision to dismiss Nedlands Council.
Mr Edwards appointed Ms Sandri as part of his own new leadership line-up in 2023.
“I am confident Bianca has the right skills and experience to excel in her new role and I would like to congratulate her on this next step in her career,” he said.
“Bianca has brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role as Director Community Services at the City of Bayswater.
“Since her appointment, she has been an integral part of our Executive Leadership Team, committed to delivering operational efficiencies, transforming the City’s digital and financial systems, driving investment opportunities within the City and delivering the highest quality service to our community.
“Bianca is a strong leader who has championed organisational change with the best interests of our community in mind.
“She is a rising star and an outstanding choice as Deputy Commissioner. I am confident the City of Nedlands will benefit from both Bianca’s planning expertise and strong understanding of the local government sector from her unique perspective as both a Director at the City of Bayswater and Deputy Mayor at the City of Stirling.
“While Bianca has stepped down from her role as the City’s Director Community Services, we are fortunate to retain her skills in a part-time capacity where her focus will be on strategically managing the City’s land portfolio and driving investment.”
Ms Sandri has worked in planning roles across the local government and private sectors. Prior to her role at Bayswater, she held the position of director and co-owner at one of Perth’s leading town planning firms.
Last year, she was appointed to the WA Planning Commission.
A passionate advocate for the community, Ms Sandri was also elected as a City of Stirling Councillor in 2017 and held the position of Deputy Mayor from 2019 to 2021.
With Ms Sandri’s substantive role now vacant, the City is on the lookout for a new Director Community Services to join its Executive Leadership Team.
