Go wild for nature and First Nations storytelling with City's July school holiday activities
Jun 30 2025

From 5 to 20 July, the City is hosting a range of exciting school holiday activities teaching kids about nature and First Nations storytelling.

Children of all ages can enjoy animal encounters and learn more about the frogs, birds and minibeasts found across the City with hands-on workshops presented in partnership with Enviro House and Nearer to Nature.

Coinciding with the school holidays is NAIDOC Week from 6 to 13 July. The City is celebrating Aboriginal culture and First Nations storytelling with a program of events including Kaarla Kaatijin, a spectacular all-ages performance by Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company, a bilingual storytime for young families led by First Nations author Isobel Bevis and art workshops for primary school aged-kids with Noongar artist Sarah Weston.

Ages 5 to 10 can also keep active and express their creativity with a range of activities taking place at The RISE and Morley Sport and Recreation Centre including basketball, netball, gym, Lego and carnival activities.

Registrations are essential, as places are limited.
