Bayswater Brief winter 2025
May 26 2025

One of the things that makes our City such a great place to live is our passionate community. We are enriched by the diverse perspectives of our residents and visitors who take the time to share their thoughts and experiences.

Currently, the City is looking for your feedback on two important projects – the renewal of the Riverside Gardens play space and the draft Morley Station Precinct Structure Plan and Scheme Amendment. Don’t miss your opportunity to have your say and help shape the future of our City. Find out more on page 3.

As a community that supports preserving First Nations history and culture, the City will celebrate NAIDOC Week from 6 to 13 July with a series of free activities for all to enjoy. Connect to Country by attending a planting day at Maylands Samphires, delve into Noongar language and art with workshops at our libraries or explore stories of Noongar Dreaming with Kaarla Kaatijin, a special performance by Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company. Turn to page 8 to find out more about these exciting events.

We’re committed to creating a more accessible and inclusive City, and this means delivering facilities that can be enjoyed by people of all abilities. Head to page 5 to read about our latest upgrades at Bardon Park, including a wheelchair-accessible swing, and how we’ve made the changerooms at Upper Hillcrest Reserve gender-inclusive to better support female participation in sport.
