The City of Bayswater will celebrate National Recycling Week with a range of waste management workshops and activities for local residents.
With six events scheduled from Monday 10 November to Sunday 16 November, the week’s activities aim to educate and encourage residents to think about ways they can reduce, reuse and recycle for a more sustainable way of living.
Events are for all ages, from a rubbish truck storytime for little ones, to a cutting kitchen waste workshop for seniors.
Residents can also learn what happens 'beyond the bin' through a workshop that explores the hidden environmental costs of everyday consumption habits and how the choices we make have far-reaching effects on the planet.
The program includes a tour of the Cleanaway Materials Recovery Facility for community members interested in a behind-the-scenes look at the recycling process.
The City will also host its first Household Hazardous Waste Community Drop-Off Day, where residents can drop off eligible materials, with terms and conditions in place.
The week will be rounded out with a tyre drop-off day, allowing residents to drop off up to four tyres free of charge at the Baywaste Transfer Station and Recycling Centre.
