Message from the Mayor

Our local businesses play a vital role in shaping the City’s identity, creating jobs and driving economic growth. The City is pleased to be recognising the passion and innovation of these businesses at the inaugural Bayswater Business Awards in October. I encourage businesses to join us for this special evening of networking, community connection and celebration. Please see the next page for more details.

There’s no better time of year to give your home a spring clean and consider ways to reuse or recycle items you no longer need. The City is celebrating National Recycling Week from 9 to 16 November by hosting free events for all ages. Head to page 6 to find out more and read up on the best ways to dispose of unwanted household items to keep our community safe and clean.

We are dedicated to making our City a welcoming, accessible and inclusive place to live. Turn to page 7 to learn about recent initiatives to support people living with disability, including the Sport4All program, All Abilities classes at Bayswater Waves, and the City’s participation in the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower initiative.

Planning a special catch-up with family and friends over the warmer months? Why not make use of one of the City’s many venues available for hire. Turn to page 4 to find the perfect space for your next gathering and discover how to book.
