Wonderful wetlands on display in free community art exhibition
A free exhibition of around 300 artworks inspired by the City’s wetlands will be on display at The RISE next month.
The City’s partnership with artist and biodiversity educator Angela Rossen continues into spring, with the Wonderful Bayswater Wetlands exhibition bringing together artworks inspired by the plants and animals found within the City’s wetlands.
On display at The RISE in Maylands from Monday 7 to Friday 25 September, the exhibition features around 300 artworks, including works by students from Bayswater, Hillcrest and Maylands Peninsula Primary Schools, as well as community members who took part in nature painting workshops at Environment House in Bayswater.
The community is invited to explore the exhibition and discover different perspectives on the biodiversity of the City’s wetlands.
As part of the City’s SPARK program, older adults are invited to join a guided tour of the exhibition on Friday 11 September from 10am to 12pm. A community bus will be available to pick up and drop off participants from Bayswater and Morley Community Centres. Registration is essential as places are limited.
Schools are welcome to arrange an excursion for middle and upper primary students and can contact info@angelarossen.com to arrange a visit.
