On request, officers will include your home in regular patrols. If anything unusual is noticed, your nominated emergency contact will be notified.
Note: Officers do not enter the property or check inside the home, and this service does not replace home insurance or private security.
In addition to requesting a Holiday Watch, residents are encouraged to take extra steps to secure their home before leaving:
Lock all doors, windows, and side gates
Suspend mail and newspaper deliveries
Use timer lights to create the appearance someone is home
Ask a trusted neighbour or friend to check your property
Store bins, ladders, tools, or items that could be used to access the home
Notify your alarm monitoring service if applicable
Avoid posting travel plans on social media until you return
