Noise Complaints

Community Safety Officers are available after hours to attend and assess noise complaints in public and residential areas.

For detailed information about noise regulations and permitted timeframes, please visit the City’s Environmental Health Noise page here.

Important to know:

  • Community Safety Officers are not authorised to order individuals to stop making noise, issue fines, or enter private properties. However, they can monitor, document the issue, and escalate it to the appropriate authority.
  • We provide education and request compliance
  • WA Police should be contacted if the situation escalates

If the situation becomes aggressive, unsafe, or significantly escalates, residents should contact WA Police on 131 444 (non-emergency) or 000 (emergency) if there is:

  • Threatening or violent behaviour
  • Excessive noise accompanied by disorderly conduct
  • Refusal to cooperate after repeated requests
  • Large-scale disturbances or excessive intoxication in public spaces
