Youth Events

Friendly Footprint is an event for young people in the City of Bayswater to learn simple and practical sustainability skills.

Members of the City of Bayswater Youth Advisory Council are coordinating an ‘open day’ for young people aged 12-25.

Presented by Drug Aware, it will be a day of free workshops, information and activities which will focus on bringing like-minded people together to share simple and practical skills to live more sustainably.

Please note: only young people aged 12-25 are eligible to participate in these workshops.

 

Date:  Sunday 4 October 2020

Time:  10am-4pm

Venue:  Enviro House - 125 King William Street, Bayswater

Please note: A Parent/Guardian Consent Form is required for young people under the age of 18. A completed form must be presented on the day of the event. Click on the link at the bottom of the page to download a form.

Places are limited and this is not a ticketed event, so save the date and get there early.

Bring clothing you no longer wear and swap it for something you like!**

Plus BBQ, giant games, prizes, sustainable activities and more.

*Participants who receive a a free Bokashi Bin, compost bin or worm farm will be required to use the composting system at home for a trial period of four weeks and keep a record for the completion of a survey at the end of the trial.

**Clothing must be clean and in good used condition with no rips, stains or broken buttons/zips

  • Anyone participating in a workshop will receive a free hamburger (vegan and gluten-free options also available).
  • The safety of our community and staff is our top priority - social distancing and hygience measures will remain in place. If you are sick, please stay at home.

Youth Workshops - 'How to Adult'

The City runs regular FREE workshops that aim to prepare young people aged 12 - 25 for their futures, focusing on education, employment, wellness and independence.

With a diverse range of topics on each school holidays, come along and explore the options. Bookings are essential. Preference is given to City of Bayswater residents for bookings.

Exam time is not easy and you are not alone in feeling a bit overwhelmed. Just remember, you’ve got this – and we have some stress busting tips and self-care techniques to help get you through your exams unscathed.

Yoga in the park

Tranby Reserve, Maylands WA

Make the most of our glorious spring weather and join us for outdoor yoga. In this gentle, flowing class we will focus on flexibility, strength and mindfulness. Suitable for all fitness levels.
