Wonderful Bayswater Wetlands

Discover a range of fun, free events for all ages exploring the secrets of Bayswater's wetlands, presented in partnership with Angela Rossen.

The City is partnering with artist and biodiversity educator Angela Rossen to highlight the biodiversity of its wetlands with the community.  

Running from May to September 2026, the Wonderful Bayswater Wetlands project spans a range of fun, free interactive activities for all ages.

Baigup wetlands bird walk

  • Baigup Wetlands, Bayswater
  • Sunday 23 May, 9am – 12pm

Enjoy guided walks through the wetlands and interactive activities for children, and connect with representatives from BirdLife WA.

Community discovery mornings

  • Eric Singleton Bird Sanctuary, Bayswater
  • Sunday 21 June, 9am – 12pm

All ages are invited to explore the wetlands, enjoy interactive displays and animal encounters, and connect with environmental groups.

Nature Painting Workshops

  • Enviro House, 125 King William Street, Bayswater
  • Sundays 17 May, 14 June OR 9 August, 2 – 5pm

Adults can come along to free nature painting workshops at Enviro House to learn how to capture the beauty of the wetlands. Registrations essential.

Wonderful Bayswater wetlands exhibition

  • The RISE, 28 Eighth Avenue, Maylands
  • Sunday 6 – Saturday 26 September

Browse artworks created by community members and students from Bayswater, Hillcrest and Maylands Peninsula Primary Schools and discover the secrets of the wetlands. This biodiversity survey exhibition of nature studies will showcase the plants and animals of the Bayswater wetlands.
