Greening our City

Urban Tree Canopy Urban Tree Canopy

The City of Bayswater is committed to ensuring the community has a sustainable future by:

  • Creating parks and eco-recreational spaces
  • Preserving and planting trees
  • Encouraging the community to plant waterwise gardens.

The City has signed up to Vision 20-20-20, which aims to provide 20% more quality green spaces in urban environments by 2020. The current City's tree canopy is at 13.2%. To find out more information please vision the 202020 vision website.

The City has also made the pledge to the community of a 20% urban green canopy by 2025.

Urban Forest Strategy

The City's Urban Forest Strategy aims to create a resilient urban forest that is both diverse and vigorous whilst improving the livability values for the greater community for now and for future generations.
