The City can collect domestic whitegoods only. This includes items such as cooktops, dishwashers, fridges and freezers (clean and empty with doors removed or taped closed), heaters, split system airconditioners, hot water systems, microwaves, ovens, rangehoods and washing machines and dryers (with doors removed or taped closed). Fridges, freezers and split system airconditioners will be de-gassed after being collected.
If you have questions about if your item is included in the whitegoods collection, call 9272 0622.
A maximum of six (6) mattresses and four (4) whitegoods can be collected under each allocation (two per financial year).
Additional mattresses and whitegoods can be taken to the Baywaste Transfer Station and Recycling Centre.
No, the base of the bedding contains timber and other materials. Bed bases can be broken down and placed in a booked bulk bin or taken to Baywaste Transfer Station and Recycling Centre free of charge for residents.
Please contact our Waste Management team on 9272 0622 to discuss your options.
Mattresses and whitegoods placed out without a booked collection or more than 24 hours before the collection day will be deemed illegal dumping and may be subject to fines under the Litter Act. Adhering to these rules helps keep the City of Bayswater clean and safe.
City of Bayswater residents can take whitegoods and mattresses to the Baywaste Transfer Station and Recycling Centre free of charge. A maximum of two mattresses can be dropped off free of charge per visit - additional mattresses will be charged at the standard rate listed in the City's Fees and Charges.
Mattress and whitegoods collections take place on Wednesdays. They are ordered on demand and wait time is subject to demand. You will be provided a collection date and an order reference number when booking.
To cancel a collection, call Cleanaway on 9449 3338. All cancellations must be requested at least 48 hours before the collection date to allow administration time to process the cancellation. Failure to present your mattress or whitegoods or failing to cancel the collection before the 48-hour window closes will result in that allocation being used for the financial year.
