Environmental Policy and Management

The City of Bayswater is involved in a range of sustainability and natural area management initiatives that are designed to protect, preserve and conserve our environment.

The City recognises how important it is for environmental issues to be managed at a strategic level and our key environmental strategies are identified in the City's Corporate Business plan. This ensures planning, decision making and activities that impact on the City are considered across the organisation, with priority placed on protecting the natural environment.

Our sustainability management activities relate to:

  • Greenhouse gas emissions and climate change
  • Waste and recycling
  • Biodiversity
  • Bushland, foreshore and wetland management
  • Parks and streetscaping
  • Catchment management
  • Air quality
  • Pollution control
  • Contaminated sites
  • Acid sulphate soils
  • Water resource management.
