Community groups, sporting clubs and individuals are invited to apply to receive up to $5,000 towards their project or initiative benefitting the local community, as part of the City’s Better Bayswater Grant.

From 1 to 31 March, the City will be offering up to half the funds required for projects that seek to support community connection, health and wellbeing, or vulnerable people in the community. Applicants can match the City’s contribution with cash, in-kind support such as volunteer hours, or a combination of both.

Last round, Bayswater not-for-profit organisation Enviro House received Better Bayswater Grant funding towards its upcoming environmental writing and nature journaling workshop, Write in Your Place. During the weekend-long workshop in July, novelist Sarah Drummond and environmentalist Yann Toussaint will encourage participants to explore their connection to nature, place and history through guided writing sessions and site visits.
