Development Applications (Advertised/Approved)

Requirement for Advertising

The requirement to advertise development applications is outlined in Schedule 2, clause 64 of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Scheme) Regulations 2015, and Part 4 of State Planning Policy 3.1 Residential Design Codes.

Advertising a development application is often a discretionary matter, and the City will decide whether or not to advertise an application following assessment, depending on the nature of any variations proposed to planning requirements and the likelihood and/or significance of any impact to the area.

Applications which fully comply with all planning requirements will not be advertised.  Applications for an extension to a non-confirming use or an 'A' use will always be advertised.

Applications Currently being Advertised

Development applications are typically advertised for a period of 14 days, though this period may be extended. During the advertising period, details of the application and the associated plans are available for viewing at the City's Civic Centre (8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday) and on the Development Applications - Public Advertising section of the City's Engage Bayswater website.

Making a Submission

The City will issue letters to notify owners and occupants of properties most likely to be affected by a development, however any member of the public can make a submission on the proposal.

Submissions can be made by:

Submissions can also be lodged in person at the front counter at the City's Civic Centre, however please note all submissions must be in writing.

If you wish to lodge a submission but have missed the advertising period, please contact the City on 9272 0622 to see if a late submission can be accepted.
