Local families and eco warriors are invited to Maylands Waterland from 9 to 11am on Saturday 23 March for World of Water, a fun and interactive morning exploring water sustainability and biodiversity.

Attendees can uncover secrets of the City’s wetlands and learn waterwise tips and tricks through exciting activities and displays presented by environmental organisations Enviro House, Perth Zoo, Critters Up Close, South East Regional Centre for Urban Landcare and more.

The event coincides with World Water Day, which is celebrated annually in March to raise awareness of sustainable water management.

Deputy Mayor Councillor Elli-Petersen Pik said all ages would enjoy learning about the City’s waterways at this free event.

“World of Water offers a morning full of fun educational activities for the whole family,” he said.

“Kids can get up close and personal with wetland animals, inspect aquatic critters under the microscope and take part in other hands-on activities. Adults can grab a coffee and browse informative displays to learn water-saving strategies and tips to living sustainably.

“I encourage everyone to come along to find out more about how they can support the City’s wetlands and enjoy an exciting morning at Maylands Waterland.”
