Blue Ribbon Clubs (BR) is an incentive-based accreditation scheme for sporting clubs. The program addresses all aspects of what it means to be a “healthy club”.
Clubs are assessed, educated and practice a wide range of good club management areas from alcohol management and health promotion, through to future budgeting and planning, strong governance and club administration. The program assists local sporting clubs to grow and develop by improving the skills, knowledge and practices of clubs and their volunteers, and is supported by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.
Why become a Blue Ribbon Club?
The program develops and strengthens governance practices for clubs through the following:
• increases club profiles and development opportunities
• improves self-management of clubs through training
• provides club support and networking opportunities
• strengthens relationships between the City and clubs
• assists in club sustainability
• provides clubs with grants and funding opportunities
• recognises and rewards clubs for good governance
By participating in the initiative, sports clubs are better able to plan for the future, access funding, increase their membership and improve their community presence and profile.
Some exciting new changes are on the way for the Blue Ribbon Program in 2017, including better rewards, a simpler format, and more opportunities for your club to get recognised for your hard work. Watch this space!

Annual Club Survey
Each year the City of Bayswater and City of Swan conduct an annual club survey to determine how we can best assist your clubs. The club survey is required to be completed by all clubs who utilize a City of Bayswater and/or City of Swan facility including ovals, reserves, courts and pools.
Completing this survey will assist the Club Development Officer to improve on providing support, training and information on topics that matter to your club. It is also an opportunity for you to provide feedback to us, so that we can ensure we are meeting and exceeding your needs as a club. The survey will also help to analyse areas where your club is strong and areas that might need some improvement, in order to offer you specialised assistance and one-on-one advice.
The survey occurs each September, and each club who completes the annual club survey will go into the draw to win the major prize, including equipment and training vouchers for your club.
If you would like more information on the Annual Club Survey, please contact the City's Club Development Officer on 9272 0609.
