Playground equipment at Bert Wright Park in Bayswater will be upgraded thanks to a $70,000 Lotterywest grant.
The grant will see stage two of the playground upgrade completed which comprises a water play creek, drinking fountain and a net climber for the current nature playground.
It will also involve the installation of a barbecue and picnic area and some accessible pathways through the park.
City of Bayswater Mayor Barry McKenna said the nature play aspect of the park encouraged children to use their imaginations.
"Bert Wright Park is a wonderful place for families to play and enjoy the great outdoors in our Garden City," Mayor McKenna said.
"This upgrade will ensure that the park is a safe and educational place for children to play and will encourage them to use their imaginations during play time.
"On behalf of the City, I would like to thank Lotterywest for this generous grant to start stage two of Bert Wright Park."
Stage two of the upgrade is due to commence in early 2017, the City contributed $100,000 to stage one of the project.
