Art at our Heart

Posted on August 15, 2017

The City is a big fan of art and supporting artists in the Community, so it's no surprise that every year we hold an Art Awards with fabulous prizes to be won.

Entries opened on August 11 for the 2017 awards; so local and metropolitan artists now have the chance to compete for prizes valued at over $10,000.

Entries can be submitted in a variety of mediums including oil, acrylic, water colour, pastel, printmaking, gouache, charcoal, pencil and sculpture (3D works).

All entries to the Art Awards and Exhibition must have been created no less than 12 months prior to the closing date - September 14, 2017 - and must not have been previously exhibited.

In the past we've had some truly wonderful entries and I'm always blown away by the amazing talent that we have in the City. Creativity is certainly a beacon that we burn brightly, and proudly so.

The exhibition will run this year from November 17 to December 1 at The RISE in Maylands.

For more information on how to enter and application forms visit www.bayswater.wa.gov.au or contact our Events Team on 9272 0622.
