The City of Bayswater is offering up to $40,000 in funding to business and community groups interested in organising events to promote the City's four major town centres; Bayswater, Maylands, Morley and Noranda.
This is the second round of funding the City has offered to business and community groups.
Mayor Dan Bull said that community events add vibrancy to town centres, build community cohesion and contribute to their success.
"Events have an important role to play in activating town centres, bringing the local community together and cultivating each centre's unique identity. The City has many different cultures and it would be great to see a multicultural event that reflects our community.
"Our retail centres are more than just shops, they are at the very heart of community life. They make us feel connected by providing places for us to catch up with friends, browse a little and linger awhile.
"Here in Bayswater we are incredibly lucky to have a number of vibrant retail centres each with its own identity and we are keen to fund events that help to build on that vibrancy for our community to enjoy.
"What better place to hold a community event or activity than in one of our fabulous town centres."
The City of Bayswater is inviting Expression of Interest from community groups seeking financial or in-kind support to deliver major town centre events primarily between July 2018 and December 2018.
