Do you have an idea for a project or activity that will bring vibrancy to your town centre? I'm pleased to introduce the City's Placemaking Seed Funding – an exciting opportunity for local groups and businesses to undertake their own placemaking initiatives.
Your project could be anything from a greening initiative, to a walking tour, public art or street furniture – if it will help activate the City's town centres, it will be considered. Funding is available for $1,000, $2,000 or $3,000 projects.
Each town centre; Noranda, Morley, Bayswater and Maylands; has its own Place Activation Plan with priorities unique to that area. In Noranda, we're looking to encourage more community events, initiatives that build connections in the town centre, and programs to engage young people. Ideas that align with any of these priorities are ideal for the Placemaking Seed Funding.
We've made it easier for groups to access funding this year. There's no formal application forms to complete, simply get in touch with the City's Placemaking Team to chat about your idea before 8 June 2018. I'm looking forward to seeing the exciting community-led projects.
