The City of Bayswater is offering local groups the chance to apply for up to $5,000 funding towards projects that contribute to the City's vision for a strong and inclusive community. The new Better Bayswater Grant opens on Wednesday 1 August, with applications due by 4pm on Monday 10 September.
Mayor Dan Bull encouraged community groups and local not-for-profit organisations to apply.
"If you've got a great idea for a community project but could do with some financial help to get it off the ground, the Better Bayswater Grant is a great opportunity.
"Building a local community that is vibrant, diverse and inclusive is something this Council is committed to. It is a key driver of our Strategic Community Plan.
"Whether it's a tree planting day, local history project, multicultural celebration or educational workshop – if it will benefit the local community it will be considered for a grant."
A free 'Get that Grant' workshop will be held on Monday 30 July from 5:30pm to help groups with their applications. More information about this workshop can be found on the City's Facebook page. The Better Bayswater Grant is open to community groups and non-for-profit organisations. Funding of up to $5,000 per project is available with matched funding of 50 percent required by applicants.
