    OVERVIEW

In this 5-week course, you will learn to read music through playing the ukulele, understand syncopated rhythms and get some basic improvisation skills and some other cool stuff. This course utilises the internationally recognised James Hill method. All lessons are supported with access to audio files and videos to make learning and practising more fun. A celebratory ‘Kanikapila’ will be held at end of the course.

Karen Wallis is a certified Level 3 James Hill Ukulele Initiative (JHUI) teacher. She has attended three four-day ukulele retreats in WA with Hawaiian great Kimo Hussey and Sam Le Mann as well as numerous workshops at uke festivals in Newcastle, the Blue Mountains and Melbourne. She has run workshops at festivals as well as teaching Cert II Music. She is the Kaz in the band KazinKo.
