The City of Bayswater’s logo features a stylised olive tree. The olive tree has special significance for the district, having been planted by the early settlers in the 1800s. Today, the original olive tree still stands at the bottom of Slade Street.
The colours and features also have significance. the central cog of the logo represents industry and commerce while the roots, trunk and leaves identify the past, continuing strength and future growth.
The colours of the logo include green and yellow, which depict the natural environment and red represents the arteries of transport and other vital services provided by the City to its ratepayers.
The City of Bayswater has positioned itself as ‘the Garden City’. The words ‘The Garden City – Quality Lifestyle’ have been incorporated in a tag line that forms part of the City’s logo. This remains a source of great pride.
