At its Ordinary Meeting of 24 February 2026, Council endorsed the City's new five-year Public Health and Wellbeing Plan.
Healthier Bayswater: Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2026 – 2031 has been developed to align with the State Public Health Plan 2025-2030 with the vision of creating 'A healthy, active and connected Bayswater' by using a coordinated, evidence-based approach towards public health across the City.
The Plan identifies local health needs, considers health determinants, and sets strategic objectives and actions consistent with legislative requirements.
It supports a proactive approach to public health, addressing areas such as healthy and sustainable environments, planning for health, nutrition, physical activity, inclusion, safety, and community wellbeing.

To support the development of Healthier Bayswater: Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2026-2031, the City:
- collaborated with the East Metropolitan Health Service to inform the Plan’s direction
- held discussions with relevant officers across the organisation whose service areas contributes directly to the delivery of public health actions, and
- gathered input from residents through a range of consultation and engagement activities.
Feedback collected through these processes was considered in the development of the Plan, helping ensure it remains relevant to local health needs and reflects the City’s ongoing approach to supporting community wellbeing.
