Funding helps kids get active

Participation in sport, whether team-based or individual, is extremely beneficial for children. Not only does it encourage them to be more active, sport helps kids build confidence, resilience and social skills. An early connection to sport can lead to a healthier lifestyle later in life.

We want to make sure every child with an interest in sport has the opportunity to play, so the City has partnered with the State Government to help local families pay their club registration fees. You can apply for up to $150 each year for eligible children aged 5 to 18, and the City will contribute an extra $50.

It's easy to apply, just visit dlgsc.wa.gov.au and complete an application form. Once you're approved, visit the City's website to apply for your $50 top-up funding.

Almost 400 children joined sporting clubs in the City of Bayswater last year with the help of KidSport. This is great outcome not only for local families but for the City's thriving sport and recreation community. I look forward to seeing even more children enjoy the benefits of playing sport this season.
