Mayor Dan Bull said, "As part of the City's $5.09 million local economic and social stimulus package, around $100,000 was allocated to fast-track the installation of solar panels to five community buildings, with Morley Windmills Sports Club being the first.

"These installations will increase the total number of City buildings powered by solar to 15, reducing our annual carbon emissions by around 470 tonnes, and saving more than $150,000 per year.

"This will also contribute to our commitment of being 100 per cent powered by renewable energy by 2030.

"Through our stimulus package we are proud to support community groups like Morley Windmills in their recovery from the COVID-19 crisis."

Morley Windmills has been part of the City since the early 1970s, and is currently seeking junior players. To find out more about the club, you can visit their website at www.morleywindmills.com.au.
