Give hope this Christmas
Nov 14 2022

With the holiday season right around the corner, the City is encouraging the local community to get into the Christmas spirit by donating items to its annual Christmas Food Appeal.

Until 12 December, locals can bring joy to those in need by donating non-perishable food items such as tea, coffee, and tinned goods, as well as Christmas items and toys at the City’s Civic Centre, libraries and recreation centres.

This year the City will be collecting items on behalf of St Vincent de Paul Society, with items going towards vulnerable community members.

Key items that can be donated for Christmas include tinned foods (fruits, vegetables, meats or fish), meal bases (pasta sauces, meal kits), cleaning and hygiene items (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toilet paper, washing powder, baby care items) Christmas items (puddings, biscuits, napkins, tablecloths, bonbons) and food items (cereal, spreads and jams, tea and coffee, savoury biscuits, baby food).

Donations are being accepted at the following locations:

- Civic Centre, 61 Broun Avenue, Morley

- Morley Library, 240 Walter Road West, Morley

- Bayswater Library, 25 King William Street, Bayswater

- The RISE, 28 Eighth Avenue, Maylands

- Bayswater Waves, corner of Broun Avenue and Priestley Street, Embleton
