Morley Noranda Recreation Club is now home to a vibrant mural by artist Kristal McGlew. Images of Morley Noranda Recreation Club members playing different sports were used to inspire the silhouette outlines featured in the colourful artwork.

The mural was funded by the City of Bayswater through its Placemaking Seed Funding Program and Morley Noranda Recreation Club.

Mayor Filomena Piffaretti said the mural has elevated the entrance to the popular Morley Noranda Recreation Club.

“Noranda is already a go-to destination for sport and recreational activities, and we want to give people even more reason to visit,” she said.

“The artwork celebrates Noranda's longstanding connection with sport, featuring silhouettes of members from Noranda’s local soccer, darts, dance, tennis and bowling clubs.

“It’s fantastic to see club members recognised in the mural as they contribute so much to our local community through grassroot sports."

The mural is one of 10 community-led initiatives delivered over the last 12 months and funded by the Placemaking Seed Funding Program.

Under the program, the City offers funding for projects that enhance town centres and embrace the City’s Place Activation Plans.

Morley Noranda Recreation Club is located at 85 McGilvray Ave, Noranda.
