Message from the Mayor
With summer here, there is no better time to get out and about in this beautiful City of ours. Our events calendar is promising an impressive lineup of outdoor family fun with Carols by Candlelight, Jazz in the Park and our ever-popular Community Concert with the Perth Symphony Orchestra. Check out the calendar on the back page for more details.
The new year will see us continue investing in our community as part of our Local Economic and Social Stimulus package; as well as transition to the FOGO waste sorting system. More information can be found in the pages to follow.
As we move into the festive season and reflect on the year that has been, spare a thought for those who are in need of some extra kindness. It has been a challenging year for so many, and we encourage all of you who can to donate non-perishable food items and bathroom products at one of the City’s Christmas Appeal drop off points.
It has been a year of great highs and lows, but what we have learnt is the importance of community – and I am incredibly blessed to be part of this community. The compassion we feel for our neighbours and the love we have for our families and friends has never been more evident. Ours is a community that cares – and that is why we choose to live in the heart of the inner east.
On behalf of my fellow Councillors and all who work at the City of Bayswater, I wish you health and happiness in 2021, knowing that as a community, we stand strong together.
