Programs and Events

The libraries run a range of free programs and events for all ages. Follow the City of Bayswater Libraries on Eventbrite to be the first to know about our events. 

All visitors will be required to provide their contact details to assist with mandatory contact tracing requirements.  The easiest way to do this is by using the Safe WA app.  If you are unable to register with the app, please see staff so your details can be manually recorded. Please allow enough time before your program or event to check in. All visitors are also required to wear a face mask as per the Government mandate.

Children's Programs and Events

Rhyme Time and Toddler Time 

Rhymetime sessions are designed for babies aged 0 to 24 months. This is a time for carers and children to enjoy rhymes, songs and stories together. 

Toddler Time sessions are aimed at children aged 18 to 36 months. This active session includes stories, songs and rhymes to develop early literacy, communication and social skills for children to enjoy with their carers.

Story Time

Learning English Through Storytime (LETS)- Ages 3-5 

Learning English Through Storytime (LETS) assists families to improve their English.

Parenting Workshops

The City of Bayswater Libraries have partnered with Midvale Hub Parenting Service (MHPS) to provide venues for their free parenting workshops. MHSP run different workshops such as Circle of Security, Tuning into Teens, Protective Behaviours, 1,2,3 Magic & Emotion Coaching. Summer Reading Quest (Ages 0-17)

Get ready for some reading adventures these school holidays. Join the Summer Reading Quest, earn fun rewards and be in the running to win prizes! Visit your nearest City of Bayswater Library to collect your Reading Log and Adeventure Card and let the quest begin! Hand in your Adventure Cards, Reading Logs and Summer Steps Cards to be in the draw to win a Dymocks book voucher.

Bayswater Bilbies (Year 1 - Year 6)

Join the hottest new club around, the Bayswater Bilbies! Students in Years 1-6 can become a Bayswater Bilby and will receive a special rewards card to collect stamps. As you fill out your card you will collect prizes along the way, once your card is complete you will go into the draw to win a book prize or voucher. Bilbies will also get invitations to special events throughout the year. It’s free to join, all you need is a library membership to get started.

Make it Club

Make It Club is a place where you can learn and make something new every week. It might be craft, Lego or a science experiment.
No bookings required unless stated. Make It Club runs during the school Term.

Do you love playing Minecraft? The City of Bayswater Libraries have joined with Fremantle Library and other local governments to bring you LibraryCraft. LibraryCraft is a Minecraft server with multiple worlds for WA players aged between 7–17 years old. This creative world will keep young people busy and their minds active, with exciting challenges and monthly competitions to win. Moderators are also available to help players if they are lost or stuck and ensure player safety online. Proof of Vaccination Information Session and Workshops

Would you like to find out how to access  the Service WA app and your digital proof of vaccination certificate? If yes, this is the workshop for you. Tim from Technologically Speaking will take you through the steps required to access your certificate, answering your queries along the way. Bookings are essential. Please bring your device and ensure you have:

- Your MyGov login details

- Any two of the following forms of ID: passport, driver's licence, birth certificate, visa, ImmiCard, citizenship certificate, medicare card.

- Any passwords for your device that will allow you to download and install apps.

Adult Workshops 

Dungeons and Dragons (young adult to adult)

Dungeons and Dragons is a game of problem solving, creativity, imagination, teamwork and co-operation. During the session you'll travel a fanciful world, discover your inner self, and push your own boundaries - it's all determined by a dice roll and a gaming master.
Who can play?  Dungeons and Dragons is suitable for any adult regardless of gender, culture and background. So come along and join us in the fun and immersive world of Dungeons and Dragons. 
We are currently running the campaign Icewind Dale - Rime of the Frost Maiden; pre-generated characters are available; however if you would like to bring your own, please email to find out what level your character needs to be.

Be Connected - 1 to 1 technology help 

Need help with creating an email account, filling in an online form or using your device? Book a session with one of our Digital Mentors. The 1 to 1 tech help program is for adults who need assistance with basic technology queries. Please only book 1 session at a time. Our volunteer Digital Mentors can assist you with:
•    Accessing the free online courses on the Be Connected website 
•    Basic device use - smartphones, iPads/tablets, laptops, computers
•    Basic program use - web browsers, word processing
•    Basic internet searching 
•    Basic email assistance 
•    Basic online safety 
•    Navigating  online forms 

Digital Mentors cannot assist with:

•    Formatting/editing documents or emails

English 'chat' sessions aimed at migrants, but suitable for anyone interested in gaining confidence speaking English.
